Making pickles doesn't have to be a long process. These overnight dills are quick, easy and make a delicious pickle! All you need is a mason jar and a few ingredients that are probably already in your cabinets.
- 6 cups water
- 2 cups vinegar
- 1/4 cup salt
- 6 stalks fresh dill weed
- 6 cloves peeled garlic
- 3 lbs cucumbers, sliced into spears or rounds
- 1 large onion, sliced (optional)
Boil water, vinegar and salt in a large pot. Layer dill, cucumbers and garlic into one large heat safe container. Pour boiling water and vinegar mixture over the cucumbers and allow to stand at room temperature for 24 hours. After 24 hours place into refrigerator to store.
