Apple Pie Cider

I can't think of another way to not only get your sweet tooth fix but also a little alcohol at the same time! Great for a dessert substitute after Thanksgiving dinner. 

here's what you will need ...
  • 1 1/4 quarts apple cider
  • 3 tbs light-brown sugar
  • 7 whole cinnamon sticks, (6 sticks for garnish)
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • Ground cloves
  • grated nutmeg to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup Brandy (optional or your favorite brand)

This is so simple ...

  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together cider, sugar, spices, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Remove from heat; pour in brandy, or not. Strain into a pitcher and toss the solids. Serve in mugs, wine glasses or what ever you wish and garnish with cinnamon sticks.
