Strawberry Lemonade Cheesecake Danish

Your probably wondering:  Well is it a danish or is it cheesecake?  Answer is its a toss up.  It has a perfect combination of the 2....creamy cheesecake like filling but with croissant dough.  So simple to make with only 5 ingredients - this recipe is a hit!

You'll Need:
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 tube store bought croissant dough
  • 1/4 tsp lemon extract
  • 2 tbl lemon zest
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8x8 square baking dish with butter.  In a large bowl, place your cream cheese, jam, extract and zest and beat until smooth and creamy.  Roll out your dough (should be in 2 larger squares) and place 1 square on the bottom of the dish keeping the triangle perforations in tact.  Top dough with the cream cheese mixture.  Place remaining square of dough on top of the mixture and press lightly making sure the dough reaches the edges.  Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown.  Allow to cool and refrigerate.  Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar glaze!
