Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1/3 cup milk
- 80 Ritz crackers
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- In a medium sauce pan place in first 5 ingredients. Mix well and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes and remove from heat.
- Layer a singe layer of Ritz crackers in a 9x13 in pan and pour 1/2 of the graham cracker mixture over it. Place another single layer of crackers and pour the remaining mixture over it. Finally, add another layer of crackers.
- For the topping, melt the butterscotch chips, chocolate chips and peanut butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Spread mixture over the top of the crackers. Allow to cool completely and cut into squares.
I would love to make these, but I'm a little hesitant....the directions call for making them in a 13 x 9 pan, yet the picture above suggests that they were made in something individual (mini muffin pan? Something with beveled sides?) Just looking for the best possible result ~ has anyone else tried them yet?
ReplyDeleteI made them in a regular pan and cut them into small squares and they are excellent! However, I would call these Twix Bars rather than Kit Kat Bars because they have carmel in them.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, be sure to stir constantly for the 5 minutes while boiling at medium heat.
