Festive Dried Orange Centerpiece

Looking for a unique and festive centerpiece for the autumn season? Try your hand at drying our own whole oranges! Here's a few tips as to how to do it on your own...

Cut shallow slits in orange peel from top to bottom without removing peel. Make eight to 10 slits on each orange. Allow slit oranges to dry in dehydrator {or low-heat oven} for 12 to 24 hours. Turn occasionally to maintain round shape. Larger oranges will take longer, while small oranges & clementines will dry much faster.

Another option: Poke small holes in the rind and insert whole cloves. Evenly space out the cloves for a more uniform look.

Combine both styles of dried oranges in a centerpiece bowl with whole Cinnamon Sticks, pine cones, acorns, small branches or dried berries.
