Buffalo Shrimp

Here's a great game day app that you can either make fried or baked.  I do them baked and really don't miss the grease, they still come out super crispy.  My advise would be to do them baked and save the extra calories for some wings!

Ingredients:

2 lb bag of large raw shrimp, thawed, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 1/2tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
3 egg whites beaten
1 tbl water

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
In a large zip lock place flour, 3/4 tsp garlic powder, cayenne pepper and onion powder and 1/2 tsp salt.  Mix together well and add shrimp to the bag.  Coat shrimp with flour.  In a shallow dish beat the egg whites until frothy.  In another separate shallow dish mix the bread crumbs with the remaining 3/4 tsp of garlic powder, cayenne pepper and onion powder and remaining 1/2 tsp salt.  Dip the flour coated shrimp in the egg white then into the panko mix.  Place on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until crispy and browned.

Serve with hot sauce and blue cheese dressing.  Look here for a great recipe for a lightened up blue cheese dressing!
