DIY Balsamic Glaze

Don't spend money on fancy bottled balsamic glaze...make your own!  It is delicious and so versatile.  Use it to dress up any dish or just to add flavor.

You'll Need:
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
Place ingredients into a medium size sauce pan and place over medium heat.  Whisk so the sugar melts.  Once it begins to simmer turn heat to low and allow to gently simmer for 20-25 minutes stirring occasionally.  Once mixture has reduced by about 1/3 remove from heat.  Use immediately or store in the fridge (glaze will get thicker when stored in the fridge).

Here are some uses for the glaze:
  • Over any meat
  • Over any seafood
  • Drizzle on top of pizza with some prosciutto & arugula
  • On top of strawberries
  • Enhance the flavor of roasted veggies
