Ezekiel bread is known for being a super healthy bread. It's made with hearty grains and legumes with no added sugar making it a healthful choice for bread. What isn't so great about this bread, however, is the price. Typically found in specialty stores it can cost up to $5 a loaf! Here's a simple, affordable way to make this deliciously healthy bread at home!
You'll Need:
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup millet flour *see tip below to make your own
- 1/4 cup spelt flour
- 1/4 cup canned lentils, drained and rinsed
- 1/3 cup canned kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 tbl extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/2 tbl honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp yeast
- 1 cup warm water
*To make your own millet flour simply grind up the millet grains in a coffee grinder or small blender (I used a small smoothie drink blender). You can do the same for any grains that you can't find the flour for.
