Here is a clever cake that your kids will love! Perfect for a girl or a boy...this Jungle birthday cake will be loved by all :) Best of all.....not only do they get a piece of yummy cake but the get a twix candy bar too!
You'll Need
- 1 box of cake mix (favorite flavor)
- 1 container of vanilla frosting
- 1 (8 oz) bag shredded sweetened coconut
- green food coloring
- Approx. 32 Twix Bars
- 2 - 3 cinnamon sticks
- parsley leaves
- Animal figures
Bake the cake according to package instructions in (2) 9 inch round bake pans. Allow to cool completely and remove cake from pans. Mix a few drops of green food coloring into the vanilla frosting until it is the desired shade of green. Place bottom layer onto a platter and frost the top of the cake. Place second layer of cake on top and frost the top and sides with remaining frosting. Place shredded coconut in a bowl and place a few drops of food coloring in. Mix until the coconut has been coated in the green food coloring. Sprinkle on top of the cake. Remove twix from the wrappers and begin to stick on the side of the cake placing them all round the outside. Place the cinnamon sticks in the middle of the cake and place a few parsley leaves on top for trees. Finally place in the animals!
