The Best White Hot Cocoa

White chocolate is so velvety and smooth....it makes perfect hot cocoa.  A big mug of this hot cocoa with some homemade peppermint schnapps is the perfect night cap!  If you still want the peppermint flavor but without the booze add in 2 teaspoons of peppermint extract to the finished cocoa and omit the vanilla extract :)

• 5 cups of milk, cream, half & half or a mixture of all
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup white chocolate chips
• candy canes for garnish
• whipped cream (optional)
• peppermint schnapps (optional)

In a medium saucepan heat the milk/cream over medium heat.  When milk begins to warm add in your white chocolate chips and stir constantly until chips are completely melted.  Remove from heat and stir in your vanilla.  Pour into mugs and add desired garnishes.
